Also, here's the thing: I have lived in apartment complexes for the last 10 years and I know how long it takes for a plumber to unjam a disposal as this happens every once in a while when a glass breaks or something goes accidentally to the sink (between 5 to 20 min depending on how bad it was, and depending on whether they had to dismount it or not). Assuming this time it had taken 30 min, that would make their hourly rate about $600. Kind of pricey, if you ask me.

My garbage disposal got jammed and I called a few plumbers to see who wanted to take the job. Because Aurora Plumbing offered a free estimate, I decided to give it a chance, even though they made me wait for almost a week before showing up. They came and proceeded to write an estimate to 'attempt to unjam it' (no guarantees, of course). The estimate was for more than $300 after tax.

Not as good as they use to be. They are too high and does not have good customer service like they use to have.

Since I can literally pay for a brand new one plus it's installation for less than that (you can buy them at Lowes starting at $89), why should I pay over $300 just to unjam my old one?

I'm sorry, but this is just not a great way to doing business.

I received great customer service. Thanks for all the help!

Had the plumber out and he did one job and was unable to do another job because of a big long speech about having to take out part of the backwall for a bathroom sink. I was also in the shop and was clearly being upsold on an item that he first quoted as less than Lowe and Home Depot's price, but a wise listening to what he was telling me was that it was going to be about $80 more than the $110 part after all the additional things needed.

Bid came in for $2,592.00 plus tax for 2 sink installations plus changing incoming connections. Called another plumber to see if that price was reasonable. Other bid, for same work, came in at $722.00 inclusive. Too bad Aurora Plumbing has changed! I've used them for over 40 years, but something is wrong there now........
